Bulabog Kite Spot Description:

The bay

is about 2.5km long, split up in a big 1.3km long beach and two smaller ones.

The wind

is side-on to on-shore (north-east) from november till march. Usually 15 to 25kt, with some strong wind periods that might get up to40kt.

The water

is from knee-deep on low tide to head-deep on high tide. Sandy bottom in the beginning, sea grass and reef rocks a bit further out. The reef outside breaks the waves that build up as the wind increases. Inside the reef is all flat and shallow. Water temperature is between 24-27°C.

Air temperature

is usually around 25-32°C. If you stay in the water for 2hours you might need a shorty to keep your body temperature. Drink a lot of water to avoid dehydration.

The beach

gets from 30m wide to nearly zero between low and high tide. You can always check the tide level at the kite center on the tide schedule. If we have a 2m high tide at night with 30kt wind it gets impossible to walk down the beach.

Be aware

of jumping on low tide, the water might be just a few inches deep. There are lot's of sea urchin all over the bay, so beginners should wear booties.
