
IKO Instructor Training Course
Do you want the opportunity to live and work around the world on tropical islands and most beautiful pristine beaches? Come and join the international kiteboarding team and become a IKO certified instructor.

This season's IKO ITC will be hold in January / February. We have three confirmed dates for english IKO courses with MFA. The examiner will be Neil Godbold. He's our successful examiner since we started with IKO.
We also have a IKO course in french in beginning of January with Xavier Roussos, this date is not confirmed yet.

Only 8slot / course. The full course will cost 790Euro, including Caticlan airport pickup, accomodation 5nights in a twin shared room and breakfast.

About passion
Because you are addicted kiteboarders and want to share your passion and knowledge with others, IKO offers you the possibility to be trained as a pro instructor and make your passion your job.
A solid training program
IKO offers a reliable and professional training program. Instructors become IKO certified by attending the 5 days Instructor Training Course (ITC). The training program corresponds precisely to kiteboarding teaching methods. The certification is recognized as the international standard in teaching.
At the end of the training, you will have developed abilities in the following major areas: safety, practical environment, analysis, technique, teaching psychology and live situation.
After attending an ITC, you will be qualified as IKO Instructor level 1 and will be able to continue your pro training. To keep a high quality teaching, all instructors level 1 must request to pass their level 2 within two years following their training.

Prerequisites
- Be at least 18 years old
- Kiteboarding/Snowkiting for at least 1 year and be a certified IKO kiteboarder/snowkiter level 3 minimum
- Have an IKO Assistant Instructor certification (Water only) or provide an attestation (letter of recommendation) of a teaching experience in a water or aerial sport
- Have a valid first aid certificate or complete it before the ITC with the IKO Examiner running the course
- Pass online Pre-ITC course (compulsory starting June 2009)
- Kiteboarding only: complete the IKO powerboat certification course or have outside powerboat certification

Neil Godbold
British, lives in Hong Kong.
Jobs: An IKO Examiner in Kiteboarding and Snowkiting and
Powerkite Master Trainer, Neil has worked in education and training since 1987 and has a background in marine and mountain sports.
Background: Holds a degree and further education lecturers certificate
in sports and recreation. Also qualified as: BMC Mountain Leader and
Rock Climbing Instructor, RLSS Lifeguard, and RYA Powerboat and First
Aid Instructor.
Experience: Involved in the kiting industry since 1992. A founding
member of the BKSA and the UK's first kiteboarding school, Paracademy.
In addition to teaching for IKO, Neil is also involved with the writing
and development of IKO training materials and courses.
Xavier Roussos
French, lives in Greece and Russia.
Jobs: IKO/MFA instructor, Co Founder of the Greek KiteSurf Association, Founder of the Hellenic Athletic Club of Kiteboarding (HACK).
Background: Bsc Economics and Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management, 3 years in the Banking sector as a Corporate Officer and 3 years as Financial Manager for French Subsidiary in Greece. In 1992, became Federal Windsurfing Instructor. MFA Instructor.
Experience: Started kiting in 2001 and Started teaching in 2002 for GWA.
